It's Saturday, in Lent ....Go to Confession!

It's Saturday - the time when most parishes (if they are worth their salt) offer regular confessions.

At Assumption Grotto in Detroit, you can count on a good confessor who won't belittle you if you want to confess venial sins and imperfections, if you don't have any serious sin. They will help walk you through a general confession if you haven't been in a long time, or forgot how to go to confession.

While there is confession on Sunday's at Assumption Grotto, the lines prompt priests and pentitents to be brief. Saturdays can sometimes be slow, presenting opportunities when slightly longer confession time is needed. I've seen some confessionals open for long periods of time on Saturday afternoons bewteen 2:30 and 3:30. Whenever there are lines, it is wise to keep it very short and brief.

With that, read up on what St. Francis DeSales has to say about Confession.
